Korie Lucious, Michigan State Guard, Reportedly Nabbed for DUI
Lucious, a guard for Michigan State, was stopped by East Lansing police around 2:30 a.m. and a breathlyzer test showed he had the blood-alcohol level of .09, the television station reports. Michigan's blood-alcohol is .08, but that's for drivers 21 and older. Since Lucious doesn't turn 21 for two more months, that standard for an underaged driver in Michigan is .02.
Police told WLSN-TV that Lucious spent about five hours in jail before he's released on a $200 bond.
Lucious is entering his junior season after starting six of the Spartans' 37 games in 2009-10. He averaged 5.6 points per game and 3.3 assists per game last season. He was an integral part of the Spartans' second consecutive Final Four run, especially once star guard Kalin Lucas went down with an Achilles injury.
Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo told WLNS-TV that he won't comment until he reviews the details of the arrest.
