(Sept. 1) -- UPDATED, 5 p.m. EDT -- Suddenly, the spigot is open.

A swift succession of tropical cyclones is keeping the East Coast of the United States on edge. As hurricane warnings were posted as Hurricane Earl churned dangerously close to the U.S. mainland, Tropical Storm Fiona appears to be mirroring the path taken last week by Hurricane Danielle.

1. Where is Tropical Storm Fiona?
As of 5 p.m. EDT, Fiona was approximately 140 miles north of Anguilla, and is traveling to the northwest at 20 miles per hour.

2. What is Tropical Storm Fiona's projected path?
Fortunately, as far as the U.S. mainland is concerned, Tropical Storm Fiona would appear to pose no immediate risk, as the National Weather Service is projecting that the system will turn north on Wednesday well before it nears the American coastline, and continue on that path toward Bermuda.

3. How strong is Tropical Storm Fiona?
As of 5 p.m. EDT, Fiona was packing maximum sustained winds of 60 mph.

4. Are there any watches or warnings for Tropical Storm Fiona?
By the time Fiona nears the island of Bermuda, it will likely be downgraded back to the status of a mere tropical depression.

5. What path is Tropical Storm Gaston on?

Heading due west, Tropical Storm Gaston, like Earl before it, will track in the direction of Puerto Rico before taking a turn to the north.
