UConn Gets Extension for Response to NCAA Allegations
The response was originally due Aug. 20 and then extended to Sept. 3. However, the NCAA granted a request by coaches named in the allegations to extend the deadline further.
Connecticut's response must now be submitted to the NCAA by Sept. 7.
In May, the NCAA reported eight violations with the program while coach Jim Calhoun was cited for a "failure to promote an atmosphere of compliance."
Assistant coach Patrick Sellers and director of basketball operations Beau Archibald both resigned in the wake of the report. The pair were accused of lying to investigators about hundreds of impermissible calls and texts made to recruits by the UConn staff.
