Caroline WozniackiThe second-round afternoon matches at the U.S. Open on Arthur Ashe Stadium ended early, with two of the favorites -- Caroline Wozniacki and Roger Federer -- rolling in straight sets.

Top-seeded Wozniacki recorded a double bagel in her match on Thursday, defeating Kai-Chen Chang 6-0, 6-0 in 47 minutes. Wozniacki has dropped only two games through her first two matches. She has won three of her last four tournaments, 16 of 17 matches and 10 in a row.

This is Wozniacki's first Grand Slam touting the No. 1 seed. The 20-year-old Dane finished runner-up at last year's U.S. Open to Kim Clijsters. She is still seeking her first major championship.

Roger Federer also cruised to a straight-set victory Thursday. The No. 2 seed defeated Andreas Beck of Germany 6-3, 6-4, 6-3. Federer has not dropped a set in the tournament. More importantly, he's avoiding long matches.

"No, it's the perfect start, sure. I played Monday, had two days off. I had another easy one physically today, and here I am in the third round feeling like I'm completely in the tournament."

Federer served spectacularly, generating 15 aces and winning 80 percent of his first-serve points. Federer broke Beck's serve five times and was broken only once. Federer played a near mistake-free match, committing just 18 unforced errors, compared to Beck's 36.

With both Lleyton Hewitt and Andy Roddick eliminated, Federer is the only U.S. Open champion left in the draw. Federer, a five-time U.S. Open champion, is seeking his seventh straight U.S. Open finals appearance.
