An HBO televised junior welterweight (140 pounds) main event featuring southpaw former three-time titlist Zab Judah (pictured at right) of New York and unbeaten knockout artist Lucas Matthysse of Argentina is being discussed for Nov. 6 likely at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, according to BoxingScene.com's Rick Reeno.

A 32-year-old former holder of the WBA, WBC and IBF welterweight (147 pounds) belts, as well as a former champion with IBF and WBO junior welterweight crowns, Judah (38-6, 26 knockouts) is coming off of July's third-round knockout of Jose Armando Santa Cruz.

The victory was the fifth for Judah in his past six fights since a June 2007, 11th-round knockout loss to Miguel Cotto, and the third straight win since losing an August 2008 ninth-round technical decision to Joshua Clottey.

Last month, the 27-year-old Matthysse (27-0, 25 KOs) scored his fourth straight knockout victory over Mexican-born Rogelio Castaneda Jr. of Sacramento, Calif., before Matthysse's home town fans at Club Atletico Newell's Old Boys in Rosario, Sante Fe, Argentina.

Matthysse scored three knockdowns against Castaneda.

Co-promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Main Events, Judah-Matthysse still is developing, so it is unclear whether or not their bout would cancel out Judah's scheduled fight with Michael Clark on Oct. 2.

Others being discussed for the card are lightweight (135 pounds) Robert Guerrero (27-1-1, 18 KOs) and junior middleweight (154 pounds) contender James Kirkland (25-0, 22 knockouts).

A two-time IBF featherweight (126 pounds) and one-time IBF super featherweight (130 pounds) champion, the 27-year-old Guerrero, who is nicknamed "The Ghost," is coming off of a July 31, unanimous decision over former four-time world champion and Cuban Olympic gold medalist Joel Casamayor.

Imprisoned since April 2009 after pleading guilty to a charge of gun possession by a convicted felon, Kirkland will be released from prison on Sept. 17 instead of his originally scheduled date of Oct. 2 and placed in into a halfway house -- conditions that will allow the 26-year-old southpaw to begin training for a potential return to the ring in the fall.
