Caroline WozniackiNEW YORK -- Caroline Wozniacki has made a mockery of the first three rounds of the U.S. Open. The top-seeded Wozniacki defeated Chan Yung-Jan 6-1, 6-0 in their third round match on Saturday afternoon.

"I think it says something about the level that I'm playing at," a very confident Wozniacki said of her third consecutive blowout at this tournament.

That was one more game she lost than in her double-bagel victory over Kai-Chen Chan in the second round and one game less than she lost in her 6-1, 6-1 blowout of Chelsey Gullickson to open the tournament. Wozniacki had won her only two previous matches against the 77th-ranked Chan, but lost a set to her in their first meeting in 2008 in Doha. Saturday's showdown at the Open was a non-competitive event, lasting just 73 minutes.

Chan committed 31 unforced errors to just 11 by Wozniacki. Unlike fourth-seeded Jelena Jankovic, knocked out of the tournament earlier in the day, Wozniacki was not challenged by the windy conditions at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Wozniacki should finally break a sweat in her fourth round match on Labor Day, when she will face No. 14 seed Maria Sharapova.

"I need to be ready," Wozniacki said of facing Sharapova. "I know she's going to attack on the first ball. I need to be fast."
