WBC and IBF junior welterweight (140 pounds) titlist Devon Alexander (pictured above, at right) has reached an agreement with promoter Don King to face WBO counterpart Tim Bradley in a fight that will take place at a site to be determined on HBO on Jan. 29, his manager and trainer, Kevin Cunningham, informed FanHouse on Monday.

If Bradley strikes a similar agreement with his promoter, Gary Shaw, then the bout would match the 26-year-old Bradley (26-0, 11 knockouts), of Palm Springs, Calif., against the 23-year-old Alexander (21-0, 13 KOs) of St. Louis, Mo., in a clash between two of the division's three champions in what is boxing's deepest and most talented division.

"Team Alexander has accepted Don's offer for a single unification bout versus Tim Bradley on Jan. 29, 2011," wrote Cunningham in an e-mail to FanHouse. "Team Alexander is now waiting for a bout agreement ."

Bradley is coming off of last month's HBO-televised unanimous decision over welterweight (147 pounds) Carlos Luis Abregu (29-1, 23 KOs) of Salta Salta, Argentina, in a non-title bout before his hometown fans at Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Alexander is coming off of an Aug. 7 unanimous decision victory over former WBA king Andriy Kotelnik (31-4-1, 13 KOs) that drew some 10,000 to the Scottrade Center, where Cunningham would prefer to face Bradley.

"We've stepped up to the plate," said Cunningham. "We want to make the fight happen."

Shaw said that Bradley's attorney, Mike Miller, and his attorney, Leon Margolis, still are working on their deal.

"The negotiations are ongoing," said Shaw. "The terms and conditions are being handled by our attornies."

Also in the junior welterweight division, WBA king Amir Khan (23-1, 17 KOs) of England and WBA interim titlist Marcos Rene Maidana (29-1, 27 KOs) are in talks with their promoter, Golden Boy Promotions, for a potential matchup on Dec. 11 in the United Kingdom.
