The Boulder County Sheriff's Office said it had received 20 missing persons reports and had located 16 of the missing, according to ABC7 - Denver. The remaining four missing people might not have evacuated, Sheriff's Cmdr. Rich Brough said.
The fire has spread across 6,168 acres and has destroyed at least 135 homes, forcing some 3,500 people to evacuate. None of the fire has been contained.
Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter declared a state of emergency Tuesday, freeing up $5 million in state funds to help pay for the firefighting.
