Bob Sanders Injures Elbow, Leaves Field in Houston
Bob Sanders, the Colts' two-time, often-injured safety who entered the regular season healthy for the first time in at least two seasons, sustained what the team announced as an elbow injury in the first half of their 2010 regular-season opener against the Houston Texans Sunday.
The Colts announced his return as questionable, and he did not re-enter the game.
Sanders' replacement, Melvin Bullitt, had a key interception in the first half, but the Texans controlled much of the momentum of the third quarter, rushing effectively throughout. Houston would go on to win, 34-24.
