It is looking as if Ted Ginn Jr., who a week ago seemed to be the additional deep threat the San Francisco 49ers was looking for, will miss Monday's game against the New Orleans Saints at least and maybe more.

Ginn suffered a sprained knee playing Sunday in Seattle and the 49ers re-signed wide receiver Jason Hill Tuesday. Hill played part time for San Francisco in each of the past three seasons. As he came back aboard, rookie cornerback Tramaine Brock was released, although it is possible he ultimately will wind up on the 49ers' practice squad.

Hill caught just nine passes last year for 90 yards. Two years ago, however, he hauled in 30 catches for 317 yards and a couple of touchdowns.
Of prime importance to the 49ers now is who will handle punt and kickoff returns. Ginn started out Sunday doing both. Phillip Adams and Josh Morgan both chipped in against the Seahawks.
