High school football is a wonderful thing. Players aren't yet jaded by the allure of fame and wealth, they're also open to suggestion, easy to motivate, and teenagers, in general, are under the assumption that they are invincible.
Not sure if that was the case with kick returner Andy McGuire last Friday night, but the Madison (VA) sophomore was standing near his goal line as Yorktown (VA) kicker Michael Dola sent the ball toward him. One problem: it was a deep boot to the back of the end zone.
The result: unintentional comedy.
As Yahoo's Prep Rally blog notes, perhaps the most amazing thing to come of this? McGuire didn't even drop the ball (there are your powers of invincibility). Unfortunately, McGuire's ability to take a hit from a goal post wasn't enough. Yorktown rolled 42-0.
