Carmelo Anthony and LaLa Vazquez Staying in Denver, for Now
"In the beginning it was stressful because you would hear so many things," LaLa said on KS1075. "I used to take it seriously, but now we've turned it more into a joke because literally every day, more than four times a day, we have moved or are moving to a different place. So, at that point it's just funny that how one minute we're here, five minutes later we're there ... and none of it is true."
Carmelo is shrugging off speculation as well. The two were on George Lopez's talk show last week to promote their new VH1 reality television series La La's Full Court Wedding.
Carmelo insisted with Lopez that he is a Nugget, at least for this year. He's not going anywhere for now, but he hinted to Lopez that the door is open for opportunities after the season.
Rumors have run rampant regarding what team Carmelo will land with next summer since he has not signed the three-year $65 million dollar contract the Nuggets offered him this past summer. He is set to be the prized free agent in next summer's free-agent class.
But Carmelo and LaLa cleared one thing up for now: Carmelo is a Denver Nugget.
Carmelo directly told Lopez, "I'm a Nugget."
LaLa also helped clear the air for the time being during her radio interview. "But right now, he's happy to be a Denver Nugget. That's where my home is and where my mind is right now," LaLa said. "As of now, the plans are to report back to Denver for training camp. So let's just see how this plays out."
