Andy PettitteYankees pitcher Andy Pettitte has been dealing with back stiffness since his most recent start on Friday, according to the New York Daily News.

Pettitte, who returned from a two-month stint on the disabled list because of a groin injury less than two weeks ago, said that stiffness may have contributed to his poor start against the Red Sox, but that he'll be fine for the postseason.

The left-hander was supposed to start on Wednesday, but was pushed back to Friday once the Yankees clinched a playoff spot on Tuesday night.

"The next day, I knew I was going to be fine," Pettitte told News. "But you don't want to have anything going on, especially after what I've been through with my groin."

Added manager Joe Girardi: "It's always a concern whenever a guy is dealing with something. But it was muscular, so you have to believe he'll bounce back. It's a little concern."
