Michael Vick rib injury Eagles RedskinsPHILADELPHIA -- Michael Vick, who came into the Redskins-Eagles game as the NFL's third-ranked passer and tops in yards per carry, was taken into the locker room for X-rays late in the first quarter. The Eagles announced that Vick had a rib and chest injury and would not return to the game.

Vick was injured when sandwiched between former Falcons teammate DeAngelo Hall and Kareem Moore on a brilliant run that was called back by a penalty on guard Max Jean-Gilles with 26 seconds left in the first quarter and Philadelphia trailing 14-0.

Kevin Kolb, initially named the Eagles starter this season, replaced Vick. Kolb missed substantial time earlier in the season after suffering a Week 1 concussion -- an injury that opened the door for Vick to take over the starting job.
