At least half of the teams in the NL Central will be looking for new managers this winter.

Ken Macha will not have his 2011 option picked up by the Brewers, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Sunday night. A formal announcement of the move -- which most expected -- likely will come Monday.

The Brewers finished in third place with a 77-85 record after going 80-82 a year ago in Macha's first season with the team.

The Brewers will join the Cubs and Pirates in a managerial search. Chicago has interviewed several candidates to replace the retiring Lou Piniella, and Pittsburgh reportedly will dismiss John Russell within the next few days.

Current Brewers bench coach Willie Randolph could be a candidate to replace Macha, and former Diamondbacks and Mariners manager Bob Melvin also has been mentioned as a possibility.

Not many things have gone right for the Milwaukee Brewers this season, but the emergence of closer John Axford, from literally nowhere, has to be their feel-good story of 2010. FanHouse TV's Dan Graziano reports. Click to watch:
