Jose Canseco Compares Himself to Kenny Powers, 'Eastbound and Down'

Pretty sure nobody could have imagined the awesome power Twitter would give its users when it first went live. It's a bona fide news disseminator, but it's also a comedy vehicle, a lot of it of the unintentional variety.

Late last month, former Major Leaguer, noted steroid user and down-on-his-luck Jose Canseco sought a pro bono attorney via the Tweet Machine after he was evicted and not allowed to take his "chandeleers" with him.

It sounds like Canseco has found a new place to shack up and it even has HBO. Because a recent tweet draws parallels between Kenny Powers' Mexican existence on "Eastbound and Down" and himself.

I'll be honest: a lot of things come to mind when watching "Easr bound and out," but never have I thought, "You know what, this is just like Jose Canseco's life sans the curly mullet." As With Leather notes, "Because we famously remember Canseco as a foul-mouthed redneck relief pitcher," and as such, it makes perfect sense that Canseco should be a consultant on the show.

Then again, Kenny Powers is always looking for a new sidekick. Does Canseco know anything about cock fighting?
