Brett Favre may not want to talk about the allegations that he sent nude cell phone pictures to Jenn Sterger, but the NFL is looking into it anyway."We are reviewing the matter," league spokesman Greg Aiello said Friday, when asked about a report that Favre sent voice mails and inappropriate photos to Sterger.
If the pictures are really of Favre, he wouldn't be the first player in recent NFL history to have nude cell phone photos spread -- Jeff Reed and Santonio Holmes have experienced similar incidents. Darnell Dockett and Brandon Spikes took it to a new level by intentionally broadcasting themselves online. The NFL didn't discipline any of those players.
The Favre allegations, if true, might differ. Favre is reported to have involved a Jets staffer in attempting to reach Sterger, and Sterger was working for the Jets at the time.
Deadspin.com reported Friday that the allegations against Favre may extend past just Sterger, with two anonymous Jets staffers -- purportedly massage therapists during Favre's tenure in New York -- claiming to also have received lewd text messages from the quarterback during his 2008 stint with the team.
Meanwhile, Favre is working with his new No. 1 target, Randy Moss, in anticipation of their first game together Monday night against the Jets.
