The news is significant in part because Sterger had not been willing to come forward and discuss the matter. Deadspin, which first reported the story that alleges Favre tried to seduce Sterger, then a fellow Jets employee, with lewd photos, had obtained the photos and voicemails from a third party after Sterger refused to go on the record with the allegations. (According to Deadspin she had discussed it off the record.)
But if Sterger is willing to discuss it with the NFL, it could add to the credibility of the allegations of potential sexual harassment -- something that would have been more difficult without a cooperating accuser.
That is the latest bit of bad news for Favre in what's been a very bad week for the Vikings quarterback. First came Deadspin's allegations (with graphic pictures). Then came the news that the NFL was taking the allegations seriously and would investigate. That was followed by Deadspin reporting that two more Jets employees have now come forward with allegations of unwanted advances by the married quarterback.
And throughout this, Favre is also apparently battling elbow tendinitis.
