Ray Lewis continues to reinvent himself. In 2000, he was in the middle of a murder investigation (charges were dropped in exchange for his cooperation). In the decade since he has won a Super Bowl, earned Super Bowl MVP honors, been to the Pro Bowl 11 times, and twice been named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year (in addition to countless other awards). Off the field, he's become something of a mentor to young players and is heavily involved in his charity, the Ray Lewis 52 Foundation.
He's also a spokesman, most recently for Old Spice. The first commercial was fantastic. The most recent offering is even better ... and, somehow, weirder.
I said it last month but it bears repeating: "Take heart Ben Roethlisberger and Tiger Woods. Your inability to keep your pants on shouldn't affect your long-term earning power." In fact, maybe the folks who provide Brett Favre with his britches -- Wrangler -- could enlist Ben and Tiger to pimp their ... Real. Comfortable. Jeans.
