Almost one year to the date that Meghan McCain roiled the Internet by posting a picture of herself on her Twitter page that prominently displayed her ample bosom, the 25-year-old daughter of Sen. John McCain posted a message on the microblogging site that decidedly returned the attention of her 92,000 followers to that part of her body once more.
apparently if I were an a-cup my comments about Christine O'Donnell would have been a lot less offensive, didn't we do this 2 years ago?
To be fair to Ms. McCain, her tweet referenced criticism leveled at her by several male commentators after she appeared on ABC's "This Week" and spoke her mind about Delaware GOP Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell, whom she categorized as a "nutjob" who is "making a mockery of running for public office."
Those comments, just like McCain's breast-emphasizing photo of a year ago, caused a small firestorm in right-wing circles.
"Christine O'Donnell won her party's nomination and is fully qualified to serve in the Senate per our Constitution," Dan Riehl wrote at Riehl's World View. "On the other hand, this self-indulgent set of mega-breasts doesn't belong anywhere near a TV studio commenting on anything. But not even stupidity can stop her given who daddy is."
At Michelle Malkin's blog, Doug Powers reposted the now-famous shot of McCain along with the accompanying text: "Disregard the above photo. I'm only putting it there to remind myself to check my tire pressure later this afternoon."
Of course, back on Twitter, McCain's latest missive did not go over well with those not inclined to agree with her take on O'Donnell's viability as a political candidate.
You know why Meghan McCain's physical appearance is still a topic of conversation? Because she won't shut up about it.
But some people agreed with her assessment and tried to return a decidedly more cerebral tone to the debate.
