Magic Johnson Sells Starbucks Franchises After Selling Lakers Stake

A day after selling his stake in the Lakers, Magic Johnson sold his 105 Starbucks franchises for over $100 million, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.

An unnamed source told the Times that Johnson, who sold his 4.5 percent interest in the Lakers on Monday, may not necessarily be positioning himself to buy another NBA franchise. But the source said he might be interested in acquiring something "in sports" in the future.

The same source told the Times that Johnson made the two recent sales because they were good business decisions.
