Alan Colmes Responds to Reader E-Mails

(Oct. 26) -- I am always amused by the responses I receive to both my television appearances and my opinion pieces.

Human nature is that only those who object fire off e-mails, and the anonymity electronic communication provides encourages much candor and few pleasantries.

AOL has provided not only another forum for me, but one for those who wish to respond to me. A sampling of some recent (uncorrected and edited for brevity) e-mails:

I have no problem with witchcraft; it's Christine O'Donnell I have a problem with as a serious candidate. President Barack Obama was criticized for going to a black church and, falsely, for being Muslim. Can you imagine if he had said he had dabbled in witchcraft? And thank you for posting my articles on FB. By the way, what is a "jurnolist"?

What have you been doing since Sean booted you off the show? Oh, that's right, nothing!

... My grandfather was a Democrat and a Baptist. If he thought that a Democrat wasn't a God-fearing Christian, he would vote for an opponent in a primary and a Republican in a general election. After all, if a person doesn't fear God, he sure as hell won't fear the voters and will do as he damn pleases in office.

Since Sean booted me off the show I've been doing laundry and attending my weekly bowling league and gardening club meetings. I don't fear God, but I do love her.
