2010 Type A, Type B Free Agents by Elias Player Rankings

FanHouse obtained a copy of the 2010 Elias Player Rankings on Thursday. Below are players due to be free agents this winter grouped by their Elias designation as either Type A or Type B free agents.

If a Type A free agent is offered salary arbitration by his former club, and that offer is declined, a new team that signs him will have to surrender its first-round draft pick to his former club, unless its pick is in the top 15 of the first round, in which case it will have to surrender its second-round pick. The former club will also receive a pick in the compensatory round between the first and the second. Teams that lose a Type B free agent after offering arbitration will receive a pick in the sandwich round.

There are many more free agents this year, but those that do not fall under Type A or Type B designation will not cost a new team that signs one of them any form of compensation or net the player's former team an additional pick in the sandwich round, and as such are not listed below.
