Haunted House? 'Ghost Buster Gals' at Your Service

(Oct. 30) -- If there's something strange in your neighborhood, who you gonna call? Ghostbusters! Or maybe two ladies known as "The Ghost Buster Gals."

Since 2001, Washington state friends Ronnie Rennae Foster and Laura Lee Mistycah have been in business as The Ghost Buster Gals, offering their expert "fast, friendly ghost-removal services" to people who believe their houses are haunted.

For a consultation fee plus $250 per hour, the Gals -- who have backgrounds in the psychic, healing and metaphysical fields -- will visit your home, apartment or office and rid your personal space of any unwanted spirits that may be lingering, much like the paranormal service Bill Murray's crew provided in the 1984 flick "Ghostbusters."

The Ghost Buster Gals -- Ronnie Rennae Foster, left, and Laura Lee Mistycah -- offer "fast, friendly ghost-removal services."

But The Ghost Buster Gals don't rely on fancy technical equipment or green slime to get the job done. Instead, they claim to communicate with spirits and safely transport them out of people's houses and into the afterlife.

Sound kooky? Well, maybe it's not all that crazy.

In fact, their services may be in higher demand than you think, given a recent study conducted by Resolution Research.

According to the statistics gathered at ResolutionPanel.com, nearly 30 percent of folks in the U.S. "reported seeing real ghosts or witnessing some type of paranormal activity."

For many respondents, this included phantom happenings at home, such as dishes mysteriously flying off the shelves, dramatic drops in indoor temperatures, and seeing dead loved ones or strangers wandering through walls.

The survey said that 31 percent of women reported seeing something supernatural, while 23 percent of men confessed the same. Widows and widowers were the most likely to see ghosts, with 48 percent reporting a paranormal experience, most commonly feeling the presence of their deceased spouses.

With numbers like those, one can only assume that The Ghost Buster Gals are busy year-round, especially around Halloween.

"We've done cases everywhere: in New York, Japan, Chicago, Australia, and Canada," Foster told AOL News. "Wherever people need us."

Foster says the most common requests they get are from folks who experience strange electrical occurrences in their homes, such as lights flickering, the television switching on and off, and the remote control working on its own.

The Gals are shown several years ago at a reportedly haunted cellar in a mansion in Washington state.

"Ghosts are electromagnetic entities, so they go for the electricity first," she explained. "It's their way of getting attention and letting people know they are there."

The Gals said other clients come calling when they can't get rid of weird, "obnoxious odors" in their homes that are usually tied to the ghost who's loitering.

"Ghosts sometimes like to leave a trail of stinkiness. We once had a case where a ghost hung himself in a home and crapped his pants while doing so. The people who moved into the house could not get rid of the smell, so they called us," Foster said.

"People also call us to investigate sudden cold spots in their homes," Mistycah added. "When trauma happens in a space, cold spots are common. They usually disappear once we get to work, though."

The Gals said a typical ghost-removal session will last a couple of hours, just enough time to communicate with the spirits and calmly guide them to the other side.

"Most ghosts are lost, trapped and scared and can't figure out how to move on. We find a way to talk them into going toward the light. Willingly, of course," Foster said. "We're ghost rescuers, not ghost hunters."

Mistycah and Foster don't use typical paranormal equipment like electronic voice phenomena meters seen on TV shows because they're not "hunting" for ghosts. Instead, they rely on a mystic stone known as "aulmauracite" to aid them in open dialogue with spirits.

"It's the stone of truth. The rocks help the entire process," Mistycah said. "Hunters find ghosts and leave them. We offer ghosts resolve and help."

Of course, not every creepy case is a walk in the park for the Gals.

Foster said sometimes ghosts are less than cooperative and "hide" in closets because they're afraid.

Other times, the Gals have encountered agitated, "tyrannical ghosts," who want the Ghost Busters to leave them alone.

"We call these types of ghosts 'ass-souls.' They're upset, dark and negative and only want to create fear," Foster said. "These ones are harder to lure in because they think they're going to hell, so they do not want to go with us."

Mistycah said she's even been yelled at by an "ass-soul," who told her to "get out" in a freaky, evil voice that gave her goosebumps.

"It was classic," she said with a laugh.

Other spirits, however, can't wait to go toward the light with help from the Gals.

Mistycah claimed she once had a car that was haunted by the ghost of the previous owner who died in it during a car accident. Once she broke through to the spirit, she said he practically took a "flying leap into the light portal."

"I've never seen a ghost go so fast into the light."

Although clearly each case is different, the Gals guarantee that after they've visited your home, the same ghost will not return. If customers continue to need assistance, they'll come back or even do their work remotely from Washington, since they say they can communicate with spirits without physically having to be in the same space as them.

Foster and Mistycah said their dead-serious mission is to provide "compassion" for lost spirits and educate the general public about ghosts. They've written a do-it-yourself guide titled "Got Ghosts???" so folks can contact spirits on their own, and remove them if needed.

"We want people to be able to do this themselves because we're exhausted!" Mistycah said. "It's an incredibly draining job because it requires so much concentration."
