Saturday's Islanders-Flyers clash featured plenty of goals (mainly by Philadelphia) and a lot of penalty minutes. 120 of them, to be precise.

One of the game's more notable incidents happened in the game's final minute, when Philly center Danny Briere went after New York's Frans Nielsen off a faceoff in the Islander zone.

Briere appears to cross-check Nielsen in the head or face, and then Dan Carcillo came over and finished the job, so to speak.

We'll see if the league wants to do something about Briere's hit, which didn't cause any serious injury but was still an unnecessary shot right at Nielsen's head.

Nielsen wasn't hurt on the play, at least that anyone could tell. He got right up and skated over to the scrum that broke out near the Islander goal.

TSN's Darren Dreger reports that Briere will have a hearing with the NHL via conference call on Monday.
