The Texas Legends began their existence in the D-League by taking the most valued commodity in the D-League draft: a big man. Matt Rogers out of Southwest Baptist University was the first pick from the newest D-League franchise with the fourth overall pick. Rogers, a 6-11, 22-year-old prospect played preseason with the Charlotte Bobcats. (Two of the first four players drafted have played for the Bobcats. Weird.) At SWBU, Rogers averaged 21.8 points and 8.8 rebounds last season.

With (potentially) Sean Williams, Keith Clark, and Rogers, the Legends have a solid frontcourt to use alongside Rashad McCants in their first year. Head Coach Nancy Lieberman will have a solid array of players to begin the year, even if Williams doesn't elect to head over. Rogers is coming off of ACL surgery, so that's something to keep an eye on. He did work out with the Mavericks before being invited to Bobcats camp.
