In the latest chapter in what has become an increasingly absurd and frustrating season for the Minnesota Vikings, wide receiver Percy Harvin and head coach Brad Childress reportedly had a "heated exchange" during practice on Friday according to a published report.According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune's Judd Zulgad., the exchange started when Childress questioned Harvin's effort during the session. Harvin, of course, is coming back from an ankle injury he suffered in last week's loss at New England. Following practice Childress said of Harvin, via Zulgad, "He's a tough guy. Let's face it, he injured that foot on his first catch of the game [last Sunday in New England] and still was very productive. I would just say he's tough."
Harvin was, according to reports, "livid" at Childress' decision to waive wide receiver Randy Moss this past week after just four games with the team, leading to team owner Zygi Wilf reportedly mulling the option of whether he should keep Moss and instead get rid of his increasingly scrutinized head coach.
The Vikings entered the season as one of the Super Bowl favorites in the NFC and have stumbled to a 2-5 start. Brett Favre has played poorly -- and been injured -- and the wide receiver situation has become a problem area due to injuries, the addition of Moss, and his eventual release.
