Leading 10-7 late in the second quarter against the New England Patriots, the Cleveland Browns lined up in their wildcat formation with Josh Cribbs at quarterback. Instead of Cribbs keeping the ball and running like he normally would, the Browns ran their own variation of the "fumblerooski" play, resulting in an 11-yard touchdown run for wide receiver Chansi Stuckey, allowing Cleveland to go into the break with a 10-point lead over the favored Patriots.

For the game, Cleveland has limited the Patriots' passing game through three quarters, while Colt McCoy, making his third-career start for the Browns, started 11-of-16 passing for 134 yards and a 16-yard touchdown run.
