(Nov. 12) -- Thursday, professional kite surfer Lewis Crathern pulled off a feat that would have made Icarus proud: He harnessed the power of 60 mph winds on his kite board, found a respectably giant wave and flew well over the 50-foot-high Brighton Pier on England's southern coast.

His response afterward: It was a good view.

"Not many people can say they've had that view," he told the BBC.

Crathern, 25, has now had that view -- or a similar one at least -- twice. In November 2009, he freed himself from the burdensome chains of gravity and flew over the Worthing Pier with co-conspirator Jake Scrace, 26.

Scrace, at least, testified to some pre-flight jitters.

"It was probably the most terrifying thing I've ever built up to," he told the BBC last year.

And it looks terrifying indeed, and then deceptively easy, as you can attest from the videos of the two stunts below.
