The rare late November twister was spotted near the towns of Caledonia and Poplar Grove, WREX News reported where homes and power lines were damaged.
A Rockford school bus carrying children was rolled onto its side by the storm's winds, resulting in several minor injuries, WIFR reported.
A tornado watch issued by the National Weather Service remained in effect until 6 p.m. for Peoria and other parts of the state, as well as for southern Wisconsin, where higher-than-normal temperatures were set to give way to an approaching cold front.
According to the Peoria Journal Star, high temperatures reached into the lower 70s today, while highs on Tuesday were expected in the low 40s.
