A day after a fifth loss in six games, the news was mixed for the Houston Texans.

Andre Johnson, the Texans' Pro Bowl wide receiver, got the good news – he didn't significantly re-injure his ankle in a 34-24 loss at Philadelphia Thursday – with safety Bernard Pollard getting expected bad news:

He has been fined $40,000 by the NFL.

Pollard was fined for unnecessary roughness for hitting Tennessee wide receiver Justin Gage – ruled to be a defenseless player – in the head during a 20-0 Houston victory this past Sunday, John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reported.

Johnson, who caught six passes for 149 yards Thursday, underwent an MRI Friday morning after re-injuring the high ankle sprain that has bothered him since Week 2.

"He tweaked it again," Texans coach Gary Kubiak said. "He got the shot and played very well. The tests showed no significant changes. We'll continue to treat him as we have been."

Kubiak also said Texans defensive end Mario Williams has been playing through a sports hernia, and that Joel Dreessen "should be fine" despite catching five passes for 63 yards while playing through a rib injury so severe "he almost passed out."

"It's been bothering him for awhile," Kubiak said of Williams. "He's been fighting through it. He got an injection in Philadelphia Wednesday. He's been doing all he can. We'll continue to bring him along the way we have been."
