Mike Heimerdinger returned to practice for Tennessee Titans Friday.
What the offensive coordinator's role will be when the team plays host to Jacksonville Sunday remains less clear.
Heimerdinger, diagnosed with cancer last week, began chemotherapy Wednesday and Thursday, and was on the practice field Friday, John Glennon of the Tennessean reported Friday.
"Mike has been in the building and I was very, very happy to have him out there today, yes," Titans coach Jeff Fisher said, adding of Heimerdinger's status for Sunday, "We have a plan. We'll discuss it (publicly) after the ballgame."
Quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains is expected to call plays if Heimerdinger can not.
