Duke, Kansas, Kentucky and Michigan State, arguably the nation's top four programs, will be facing one another to kick off the college basketball season over the next three years.

The Blue Devils, Jayhawks, Wildcats and Spartans will play one another at various sites in the Champions Classic, which will begin next year in New York City. On Nov. 15, 2011, Kansas will face Kentucky while Duke will play Michigan State. In 2012, the teams will play in Atlanta, with UK facing Duke and the Spartans playing Kansas. The next year will be in Chicago, pitting Duke against Kansas and Kentucky against Michigan State.

Next year, both Kansas and Duke will head from this event directly to Maui, where they will also encounter the likes of Memphis, Georgetown, Tennessee, and UCLA. Therefore, it is conceivable that one of those teams could have two -- if not more -- losses heading into December.

The series will be televised on ESPN and will certainly provide a boost to college basketball's early season.
