Demontez StittDemontez Stitt, Clemson's leading scorer, underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Monday. It is the second time in his career the left knee has needed to be scoped, as he also had the procedure his freshman year -- causing him to miss two games. He injured the knee on a screen in the final minute of Clemson's ACC-opening loss to Florida State last Saturday. He had 18 points in the game.

The senior guard is averaging 13.8 points per game while hitting 37.5 percent of his 3-point attempts. He's been a steady source of scoring for the Tigers, as he has scored in double figures eight of their nine games. The only time he didn't was in limited action of a season-opening blowout win over Western Carolina.

The Tigers (5-4, 0-1) did already open ACC play, but don't have another conference game until hosting Miami Jan. 8. That means Stitt will have more than enough time to get himself ready for conference play. Until that game, the Tigers face a bevy of small-conference foes, though Charleston (Dec. 22) is no pushover. Still, all six of the games before the Miami battle are winnable for Brad Brownell's team, even without its top scorer.
