'Mr. Skin' Exposes Top 10 Nude Scenes of 2010

(Dec. 14) -- Though some critics may argue that 2010 was an unusually bad year for cinema, one movie buff is choosing to look at the bright side: At least it was a banner year for nude scenes.

That's the skinny from Jim "Mr. Skin" McBride, a Chicago film lover who's made a longtime career out of tracking and recording every titillating female nude scene ever to grace the silver screen on his popular website, MrSkin.com.

Mr. Skin has just revealed his prime picks for the "Top 10 Nude Scenes of 2010," and he told AOL News exclusively that despite the selection of bad flicks this year, there was still plenty of quality skin to choose from.

"It was a great year for nudity. There aren't as many quality nude scenes in Hollywood movies as there used to be in the '80s and '90s, but there is much more nudity on TV, on networks like HBO, Showtime and Starz. When you combine the two categories, you get plenty of nakedness. I'd say we are in the 'Golden Age of Nudity' in cinema right now," Mr. Skin explained.

So, what are the most "skintastic" moments of 2010?

Well, here's the selected body of work, as chosen carefully by Mr. Skin himself:

10) Jessica Alba in "The Killer Inside Me"

Although Mr. Skin said this particular nude scene only shows Alba's bare butt for a few seconds, it still makes the cut for focusing on the actress' best asset. "It's Alba's first nude scene ever and it's very quick, but it's great. Fans have been bugging me for years for a naked scene starring Alba, and she finally gave it to us," Mr. Skin said.

9) Violante Placido in "The American"

Though Placido is perhaps the least-known actress on the list, Mr. Skin said her topless scene in "The American" is a bona fide breakthrough. Even more interesting, however, is the fact that sexy nude scenes run in her family. "Her mom, Simonetta Stefanelli, got naked in 'The Godfather,' so it's nice to see Placido following in the footsteps of greatness," Mr. Skin said.

8) Kirsten Dunst in "All The Good Things"

Mr. Skin said he's a big fan of the scene when Dunst steps into the shower with Ryan Gosling. "Dunst has never had a real nude scene in her career until now, and this doesn't disappoint. We always imagined she'd look good topless, but never this good."

7) Mary-Louise Parker in "Weeds"

This pot-centric TV series featured a smoking-hot sex session featuring Parker and guest star Mark-Paul Gosselaar. "Parker has gotten naked in 'Weeds' before, but nothing as wild as this sex scene. It's so crazy, you have to see it to believe it. Plus, factor in that she's doing it with Zack 'Preppy' Morris from 'Saved by the Bell,' and it's even more mind-blowing," Mr. Skin said with a laugh.

6) Rebecca Creskoff in "Hung"

Mr. Skin said the HBO series featured an unusually long full-frontal scene in which Creskoff casually talks as she bares it all. Viewers will really get to know her after this one.

5) Amanda Seyfried and Julianne Moore in "Chloe"

According to Mr. Skin, the much-talked-about lesbian sex scene that ranks No. 5 is one for the books, because, in his words, "it's a rare kitten-on-cougar encounter."

4) Anne Hathaway in "Love and Other Drugs"

Although Hathaway's first nude scene of many comes only 22 minutes into her sultry new movie, Mr. Skin said her best moment in the buff happens 32 minutes in. "She's an A-lister who's naked for a huge part of this movie. She's come a long way from her Disney princess days in 'The Princess Diaries,' " he said.

3) Paz de la Huerta in "Boardwalk Empire"

Mr. Skin said de la Huerta provided so many quality nude scenes in this flick, it was hard to pick just one for the list.

2) Jessica Pare in "Hot Tub Time Machine"

Pare's topless scene in this time-traveling comedy came right before she scored her breakthrough role on TV's "Mad Men." Talk about busting out in Hollywood.

1) Kelly Brook and Riley Steele in "Piranha 3D"

Mr. Skin's No. 1 nude scene of 2010 comes courtesy of a pair of sexy starlets in a film trashed by critics. Though the movie didn't get good reviews, Mr. Skin said he couldn't take his eyes off the screen when Brook and Steele shared a graphic underwater nude scene wearing nothing but flippers. "This scene was hard to top. Forget the quality of the movie, the quality of the nude scene was spectacular and stood out far above the rest. The fact that it was in 3-D added even more thrill to the scene," explained Mr. Skin. "3-D may be the future of nude scenes."

Although Mr. Skin is very pleased with the nude offerings in 2010, he admitted that nothing in his website's 11-year history has ever topped his No. 1 favorite nude scene of all time.

"Phoebe Cates in 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High' is still my favorite, hands down. Nothing has ever changed my mind, I doubt it ever will. It's the best," he said.

Mr. Skin also gave it up to chronic nudists such as Angelina Jolie, who, by his count, has been naked in 13 films.

Veteran actress Helen Mirren is also a legend when it comes to nude scenes, stripping down in 15 films throughout her long career.

"Mirren did her first nude scene in 1969 in 'Age Of Consent' and has done a nude scene every decade ever since. She's the only actress to have a nude scene in six different decades. That has to be some sort of record, and it'll be hard for anyone else to break it," Mr. Skin added.

For those of you wondering how Mr. Skin does his research, here's the naked truth: The movie buff works with a crew of seven other guys who are constantly scouring the big screen and the boob tube for nudity.

They put in a full day at the office every day to keep abreast of the latest nude gems while also cataloging great nude scenes from the past that may have been overlooked by viewers.

But Mr. Skin doesn't just let any old, ratty nude scene into his website -- he has serious standards.

He said his main criteria for a noteworthy naked scene includes the quality of the scene, the length of it, the fame of the celebrity involved and what body parts are shown.

"Full-frontal trumps one breast every time," he added.

However, as weird as it sounds, the most important factor for Mr. Skin has and always will be lighting.

"It can be the longest, best nude scene in the world, but if the lighting is bad, it ruins everything. What good is a nude scene if it's in the dark and you can't see anything?"
