(Dec. 17) -- World champion boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been arrested in connection with an assault case.

On Wednesday night, a security guard working in Mayweather's Las Vegas gated community accused the boxer of poking him in the face as the two argued about a parking matter. The police were called but decided not to take Mayweather in. The following night, however, they arrested him at a casino for the misdemeanor battery complaint. (See Mayweather's smiling mug shot here.)

We here at Surge Desk wouldn't want to tangle with Mayweather. Why? For some of the reasons below.

1. Six world championship titles in five different weight classes.
His first world title came in 1998, when he won in the 130-pound (super featherweight) division.

2. A perfect record.
He's an undefeated 41-0 in his professional career, with 25 knockouts.

3. An Olympic medal.
He won a bronze medal in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games for his performance in the featherweight division.

This new legal tussle -- on the heels of domestic battery accusations from an ex-girlfriend -- means that Manny Pacquiao will have to wait a little longer to face Mayweather in the ring.
