Brett Favre injuryBrett Favre started at quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings against Chicago on Monday Night Football. But he didn't last long.

Favre suffered an apparent concussion when his head was slammed into the frozen turf at the University of Minnesota's TCF Bank Stadium on a sack by Chicago's Corey Wootton. Favre left the game and the Vikings announced shortly after halftime that he would not return.

Although he was playing with a badly injured right shoulder that was expected to keep him out of the game, Favre was actually throwing the ball fairly well before he went down, completing five of seven passes for 63 yards, with one touchdown and one interception.

Favre was replaced by rookie Joe Webb, who had been expected to start the game before Favre surprised everyone Monday afternoon by saying he could play.
