Fantasy FanHouse's "Bust a Move" segment provides quick-hitting insight on the most popular adds and drops across Fleaflicker fantasy leagues when the waivers clear on Wednesday of each week. Knowing who is on the move during this period often provides a valuable edge with regard to outperforming or underperforming players, injuries and depth chart shifts. So do as the man says, "Don't just stand there..."The Adds
Vincent Jackson (WR, Chargers, 1,138 adds) - As we mentioned in this week's waiver wire wonders column, Vincent Jackson silenced the doubters after his year full of disputes, trade rumors and injuries as he scored three touchdowns to go with 112 yards receiving. The old one-two punch of Rivers to Jackson is seemingly back in true form. Look out for big numbers in the coming two weeks as Jackson will have money on his mind. There will be no shortage of contract talk in the coming offseason, so he'll be looking to up the ante.
David Buehler (K, Cowboys, 804 adds) - Normally, I tend to sneer at performance-chasing kicker pickups, not because they don't make sense, but kickers are so stupid in fantasy that it's essentially pure luck who pays off. In this case, however, I see the thinking and it's hard to argue. David Buehler now has four consecutive weeks with over 10 points. I don't think you can get more consistent than that at the position.
Tim Tebow (QB, Broncos, 783 adds) - Tim Tebow is all the rage this week as he not only put up two touchdowns and a hefty load of rushing yards in his debut, but he gets a money matchup this week against the abysmal Houston passing defense. Of the three leagues I played in this season, two of them have Tebow in the lineup as of mid-week. One thing is for sure, he's going to play a make-or-break role in a lot of fantasy championships.
Donald Brown (RB, Colts, 594 adds) - While the Colts running game has been about as consistent in showing up as your drunk step-dad, Brown put up his best performance of the season by far last week with 129 yards rushing and a touchdown. This week he faces a decent enough matchup at Oakland, but it's Peyton's season at this point. Brown makes a good RB3 or Flex, but don't count on him to win you a title.
Toby Gerhart (RB, Vikings, 530 adds) - With Adrian Peterson looking pretty iffy this coming week, Toby Gerhart makes a potentially great start again versus Philly. Against Chicago, he managed a serviceable 95 combined rushing and receiving yards, but he ran like a beast. You can see a Peyton Hillis-like bust-out coming in his near future, if only he gets the opportunity.
The Drops
Terrell Owens (WR, Bengals, 1,167 drops) - Sadly for Terrell Owens owners, the outspoken one got put on injured reserve on account of his knee injury, so his season is over. Still, T.O. got off to a great start this season, gaining just under 1,000 yards with nine touchdowns in 13 games, so it's hard to be too upset with his production -- especially given that he fell to the double-digit rounds on draft day in most leagues.
Kyle Orton (QB, Broncos, 574 drops) - Clearly, there's no loyalty in the NFL if you ain't winning. Kyle Orton put together quality start after quality start from a fantasy perspective through 12 weeks, never once falling below double-digit fantasy points, while topping 20 on seven occasions and 30 on three. But, oh how the mighty have fallen. Two turds later and Orton is benched in favor of some rookie named Tim Tebow. As much as it hurts, feel free to cut ties with Orton at this point.
Austin Collie (WR, Colts, 465 drops) - Austin Collie suffered yet another concussion last week, and was placed on the injured reserve by the Colts' coaching staff. With two diagnosed concussions in just seven weeks, you have to wonder about the longer-term implications, but for now we'll have to wait and see what happens. In the meantime, we wish him the best and hope to see him back in action next season.
Arizona (D/ST, Cardinals, 404 drops) - The Cardinals garnered some waiver wire buzz last week, as they were a popular spot start against the league's worst offense, the Panthers. Yet they managed to lose the game, and put up a pedestrian seven fantasy points in the process. This week against the Cowboys, fantasy owners are not feeling the love.
Dan Carpenter (K, Dolphins, 348 drops) - Dan Carpenter posted some very big numbers on five different occasions early in the season, but has since burned fantasy owners with four single-digit efforts in five games. In the week owners needed him most, Carpenter came up with next to nothing. Hence, forget about it during championship week.
