Bill Cowher may be "open to listen to opportunities" to coach another NFL team, but apparently only if that team already has an opening.

On CBS' pregame show Sunday, in which he serves as an analyst, Bill Cowher addressed rumors tying him to teams. There's been speculation that he's been angling to become the coach of the Giants, who still have a coach -- for now, at least -- in Tom Coughlin.

"For anyone to insinuate that I have a wish list of coaches to be fired at this time of the year, I have too much respect for the profession," Cowher said. "I know how hard it is. I don't wish for anybody to be fired. And for someone to insinuate that I'm doing that right now is disrespectful to them, and I'm insulted by it. I would not do that to the profession.

"I'm not naive to say there won't be change at the end of the year. But I will address that at the end of the year."

After recent late-season collapses, there's been speculation that only a playoff berth could save Coughlin's job. After Week 15's collapse against the Eagles and a blowout loss to the Packers the following week, the seat is likely only getting hotter.
