Chris Ivory Out vs. Falcons
Ivory was injured three weeks ago in the first half of the Saints win over the St. Louis Rams. He said all week he was having trouble getting the muscle loosened up.
Ivory is the Saints leading rusher with 683 yards. An undrafted rookie free agent, he has turned into a valuable part of the New Orleans offense averaging 5.3 yards per carry.
It might be time to see if running back Pierre Thomas is all the way back from the ankle injury that kept him out for most of the season. Thomas was the Saints leading rusher in 2009, but was hurt in the Falcons' Sept. 26 win at New Orleans.
Thomas has 206 yards rushing and averages 3.2 yards per carry.
The Saints other inactives included kick returner Courtney Roby who suffered a concussion against the Rams. Linebacker Danny Clark, who has been a starter, was ruled inactive. He has been replaced by Jo-Lon Dunbar.
