It's never fun to write about an injured first rounder, but that's the case here with Dirk Nowitzki who injured his knee on Monday night after playing just 11 minutes against the Thunder. He did not return to the game and already there is some uncertainty as to how severe the injury actually is. We'll have to continue to monitor his status.

If Nowitzki does miss time I guess all you can do is look to add Shawn Marion. After his 20-point, 9-rebound performance on Monday that might not look so bad. But let me be the first to remind you that Marion is not Dirk.

The other big injury on Monday night was to Russell Westbrook, who left late in the fourth quarter after injuring his right shoulder. He too did not return and as with Nowitzki it's too early to tell how severe this injury is. But, as is my duty I suggest you look to add Eric Maynor if Westbrook misses time. Let's hope it doesn't come down to that.

PERTINENT NBA NEWS AND NOTES

- Andre Iguodala was out against the Warriors due to the fact that he was unable to push off his injured Achilles. Andres Nocioni started in his absence, but look to Thaddeus Young (15 points, eight rebounds) instead if Iguodala misses time.

- Andrea Bargnani did not play due to a calf injury. He's also expected to miss Tuesday night. Joey Dorsey started and double-doubled, scoring 10 points and pulling down 13 rebounds in 30 minutes. He only has value while Bargnani is out, which right now stands at just one more game.

- Marcus Camby sprained his ankle against the Jazz and managed to play just over 22 minutes before leaving the game. The x-rays on his ankle were negative, but that means nothing when it comes to Camby. I expect he'll miss some time and we should see Dante Cunningham pick up the minutes Camby leaves behind. Cunningham is not much of an add in 12-team leagues, however.

- Andrei Kirilenko injured his back on Monday night and is considered day-to-day. Good thing the Jazz have Mehmet Okur back (15 minutes). I also expect Gordan Hayward to see a bit of a bump. Who knows how long he'll be out.

- John Wall came off the bench once again for the Wizards, scoring 13 points, five rebounds, six assists and two blocks in 27 minutes. He looked good, getting to the line 13 times. He should be back in the starting lineup in no time. With his early injuries, however, you might want to look to move him once he regains his starting role.

- Andray Blatche and JaVale McGee returned to action after their one-game suspension for fighting. Blatche went for 17 points, 14 rebounds, three steals and two blocks in over 37 minutes. McGee had a quiet game going for two points, seven rebounds and three blocks in 24 minutes. The Wizards went small during a big chunk of this game, so keep an eye on McGee's minutes going forward. Especially now that Rashard Lewis is in the starting lineup.

- Tyreke Evans had 32 points in 40 minutes against the Clippers, but complained about his plantar faciitis after the game. Uh-oh! This cannot be good. We'll have to follow the developments on this one.

- Kyle Lowry (eight points, four rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal) started and played 31 minutes for the Rockets against the Wizards. Aaron Brooks came off the bench to score 15 points in 22 minutes. I suggested you hold onto Lowry and I would continue to hold steady with him. He's playing well enough to maintain his minutes.

- Wesley Johnson scored 24 points, hitting 6-of-8 threes in 36 minutes. I like Johnson as a second-half contributor, but think he's still going to be inconsistent. You're going to have to deal with off-nights in order to get big boons like this one.
