Dixie CarterOn Monday came the announcement that Spike TV has decided not to pick up the weekly TNA "Reaction" television show going forward. But TNA president Dixie Carter says the program was only scheduled to run until the end of the year.

"'Reaction' was never picked up as a 52-week show. It was planned to air through the end of 2010," Carter told FanHouse via e-mail. "Look for announcements coming soon regarding 'Impact!'"

"Reaction" was picked up by Spike TV earlier in the year and has aired every Thursday night following "Impact" since Aug. 12.

It will be interesting to see what TNA and Carter have planned for "Impact" in the coming year. One thing that would seem to be set is that the show will remain on Thursday nights.

However, the show could possibly be expanded an extra hour on certain weeks, which Spike TV Vice President of Communications David Schwarz alluded to in previous comments.

"We are looking to broadcast a number of expanded TNA telecasts throughout the year in place of TNA 'Reaction.'"

One other possible idea would be to have special live editions of "Impact" in the coming year.

EDITOR'S NOTE: An earlier FanHouse story reported that TNA "Reaction" was canceled. That story contained incorrect information; both Spike TV and TNA President Dixie Carter say that "Reaction" was scheduled to only run until the end of 2010.
