David Garrard Will Miss Jaguars Season Finale With Finger Injury
The task got tougher Wednesday, when word got out that quarterback David Garrard would miss the game. Garrard will have surgery Thursday to repair a broken right middle finger, and he's been ruled out.
That means former Buffalo Bill Trent Edwards is likely to start in Garrard's place. Edwards was claimed off waivers from Buffalo in late September. He's appeared in two games for the Jaguars, throwing for 140 yards and two interceptions. Todd Bouman will serve as Edwards' backup Sunday.
Jacksonville needs a road win to have any chance at the playoffs, and they also need a win to clinch a winning season for the first time since their last playoff appearance in 2007.
