INDIANAPOLIS -- David Thornton won't play in 2010 after all.

Thornton, the Tennessee Titans' veteran linebacker who spent much of the first three months of the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, was one of eight players made inactive by the Titans shortly before kickoff Sunday. Titans coach Jeff Fisher had said late in the week there was a chance Thornton could play in the regular-season finale against the Colts.

The Titans' inactives: QB Rusty Smith (third quarterback), WR Justin Gage, Thornton, S Vincent Fuller, S Robert Johnson, OL Troy Kropog, DT Jovan Haye, TE Bo Scaife.

It's the second time in the last three games Scaife has been made inactive, and the same is true of Haye.

Rookie Damian Williams could get extensive playing time in place of Gage.
