The Bobcats' training staff is earning their paycheck, having to deal with a number of key players sidelined with various ailments. One of those players, as it turns out, happens to be Stephen Jackson, the team's leading scorer.

On Tuesday, Jackson had some fluid from his knee drained which ultimately kept him out of Wednesday night's overtime victory against the Timberwolves. Jackson is not expected to miss much more than another game or two, and it wouldn't surprise me to see him back on the court this weekend.

Gerald Wallace sat out yet again with an ankle injury. He is not expected to play this week at all. With the Bobcats shorthanded on Wednesday they relied on contributions from guys like Kwame Brown (eight points, 14 rebounds), D.J. Augustin (16 points, eight assists, five rebounds) and Tyrus Thomas (21 points, 11 rebounds, two blocks).

I've been advocating for Augustin and Thomas all season long, but suggest you skip over Brown. Consider this a once-in-a-while type of effort from him. It will be quite some time before he puts together another valuable line. I also have little faith in Gerald Henderson. He was unable to produce much in 33 minutes. Leave him to the deep-league owners out there.

NBA NEWS AND NOTES

- DeAndre Jordan doesn't care that either you or I called him "raw." Maybe he's a little more polished than he was letting on. Jordan posted his second straight double-double on Wednesday, going for 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting, 20 rebounds and six blocks. He now has 19 blocks in his last three games. Yes, 19! Those are Dwight Howard-like numbers. He should have been added in all formats weeks ago, but now that you've seen just what he's capable of you need to grab him and hold onto him. Chris Kaman is still a few weeks away from returning. Jordan is a must-add in any and all formats.

- Rajon Rondo declared he was 100 percent healthy on Wednesday with his second triple-double of the season -- 12 points, 22 assists, 10 rebounds and six steals in 43 minutes. Glen Davis scored 23 points in 33 minutes, and still needs to be owned in all formats.

- Aaron Brooks sat out with an ankle injury, allowing Kyle Lowry another chance to see some bulk minutes. Brooks is listed as day-to-day, and even when he's healthy I think Lowry is worth holding onto.

- Paul Millsap was out for the Jazz with a sore hip. He too is listed as day-to-day and hopes to return this weekend. Andrei Kirilenko benefited most from this injury, scoring 19 points with six rebounds, a steal and three blocks in 29 minutes. Francisco Elson started in place of Millsap but is useless as a fantasy performer.

- The Orlando backcourt continues to look like a logjam. Some nights it looks like Gilbert Arenas is going to play his 25-plus minutes, while other nights it's Jameer Nelson who plays well over 30 minutes, leaving Arenas glued to the bench. On Wednesday night Arenas played just 13 minutes, which was nearly two-thirds fewer minutes than Nelson, Jason Richardson and J.J. Redick. Nothing you can do here. Some days are diamonds, some days are stone.

- Marcin Gortat and Robin Lopez started alongside each other against the Lakers. The Suns were looking for some size to matchup against Los Angeles, but abandoned that idea playing Lopez just 12 minutes. Gortat saw 35 minutes of action, scoring 12 points with nine rebounds, a steal and a block. It's clear that Alvin Gentry is favoring Gortat at this point and it looks like it might be time to bail on Lopez. What a tough year for the Lopez brothers.

- John Wall deserves a nice pat on the back for his performance on Wednesday. After turning the ball over eight times on New Year's Day against the Hornets, Wall dished 14 dimes and managed only one turnover against the 76ers. Let's hope he stays closer to the 1-3 range and as far away from the 7-8 TO range as possible.

- Derrick Favors picked up his first career start against the Bulls, but managed to play just nine minutes after picking up four fouls. A disappointing start for the rookie, but if you're looking to put a positive spin on his performance he did manage five rebound in nine minutes, which makes the three rebounds that Brook Lopez pulled down in 35 minutes look ridiculous. Favors does not warrant an add in 12-team leagues. No yet, at least.

- Jose Calderon was brilliant against the Cavs, scoring 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting, three 3-pointers, two steals and 17 assists. I'd like to say the matchup had nothing to do with his performance, but when Julian Wright scores 15 points with nine rebounds and five assists it's hard to ignore the matchup.
