Tennessee Titans' Players Applaud Decision to Retain Jeff Fisher as Coach
After a week of relative uncertainty, Titans owner Bud Adams on Friday announced that Fisher would be retained for at least a 17th season as the franchise's coach.
Titans players reacted positively to the decision.
Titans center Eugene Amano told Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean he "wanted to see him (Fisher) stick around and finish this thing off and take this team to a championship.''
Adams on Wednesday announced the team will soon part ways with quarterback Vince Young, but although speculation has been widespread that the team would choose between Young and Fisher, Adams had said in a statement the two issues were not related.
"If you are a professional, he's going to treat you like a professional," Wyatt reported Titans Pro Bowl defensive end Jason Babin as saying of Fisher. "I'm glad he's back."
