The Eagles drafted wide receiver Freddie Mitchell in the first round of the 2001 draft. The highlight of his on-field career was being on the receiving end of Donovan McNabb's 4th-and-26 pass during the 2003 playoffs. In general, Mitchell was known less for his pass-catching ability than he was for his wacky fashion sense and the ironic nicknames he created for himself. FredEx has been out of the league since 2004 and in that time he's been a substitute teacher and ... well, that's about it. Until now.
Mr. Mitchell will be "featured" on "Millionaire Matchmaker," a show that apparently doesn't require you to actually be a millionaire before appearing as one.
Details via the Orlando Sentinel:
Mitchell, who said he is considering a return to the NFL, claimed he made over $5 million during his time with the Philadelphia Eagles and that he is now a venture capitalist.
If you're not already falling over laughing, consider these funny quotes.
"I need Patti to help me understand what's a gold digger and what's not and to help me find that perfect person that don't care about the NFL stuff and cares about Freddie Mitchell. " (I didn't realize gold diggers even knew who Freddie Mitchell was considering he's not in the league anymore).
And it gets better from there. (Mild NSFW warning)
"You never give a woman cash and a credit card." Words to live by.
