Universal Travel System, or UTS, is a California company that specializes in organizing deluxe vacations for travelers who wish to visit unique destinations all over the world.
Over the years, UTS has offered clients top-notch guided tours to out-of-the-way places such as East Africa, Suriname and the Guyanas in South America and Micronesia.
This year, it's stepping up its game by offering a cushy, VIP trip to Croatia that blows every other vacation out of the water.
Steve Alexis, vice president of new product development at UTS, told AOL News that the "Croatia Travel Concept" is the company's most lavish tour to date, designed to be a worry-free, first-rate travel experience from beginning to end.
For starters, Alexis said clients will be picked up at home in a private limousine and driven to the airport as they enjoy champagne and hors d'oeuvres on the way.
A UTS driver will pick up the luggage at home and handle the bags from there on out, checking in the client's luggage at the airport, claiming it once the client arrives in Croatia and getting the bags safely to the client's hotel -- basically every annoying baggage task in the book.
Once they arrive in Croatia, travelers are quickly taken to their hotel and escorted directly to their fancy suites. There's no waiting in line to check into a room -- the UTS staff does it for you.
After clients have settled in, they are introduced to their personal tour director, or PTD, who will be their private guide for the entire vacation. The PTD sets up sightseeing activities and excursions and makes sure clients are chauffeured to each stop in a shiny, fully stocked limo.
"There will be chilled towels and refreshments in the limo for those really hot days in Croatia. This way, you never have to stop and buy a drink to cool off, it's all right there for you," explained Alexis.
As for meals, gourmet breakfast is served in bed each morning at the hotel. For lunch and dinner, clients can choose any restaurant they wish to go to in the area, and the PTD will take care of the rest, including reservations, cocktails and after-dinner entertainment.
Alexis said tea is served each afternoon, keeping with the pampering theme.
"The trip is all-inclusive. Every single thing is included so that you can start enjoying your vacation from the moment you leave your house," said Alexis. "Our motto is 'Leave your wallet at home, because you won't need it.' It really is the easiest way to travel."
Easy, sure. But how much does this VIP travel experience cost?
Well, for a 14-day luxury getaway to Croatia, Alexis said you're looking at a grand total of $17,542, or $1,253 per day.
If you're up for a 21-day tour -- which includes seven days on a private yacht -- the price tag will be roughly $26,000.
Definitely not a budget vacation, but Alexis promised the trip will be unforgettable.
"You won't have to lift a finger the entire time. It's the most relaxed you'll ever be while traveling."
In the midst of utter relaxation, you'll also cover a lot of land. The tour itinerary includes Zagreb, the capital of Croatia; Bled; Ljubljana; Lipica; the Postojna Caves; and Dubrovnik, the "pearl of the Adriatic."
"I've been monitoring tourism in Croatia since they claimed their independence in the '90s, and it has grown so much. They've made great progress since the days of cheap, low-end tourism before the Balkan War. Now there are major hotels everywhere and lots of things for travelers to enjoy," said Alexis. "Other UTS trips are deluxe, but nothing is as luxurious as this one."
Interested in the fancy getaway?
UTS is now accepting reservations for its 2011 Croatia tour, with the very first departure slated for June 4. After that, tours will take off every week until Sept. 24.
