Surge Desk has a look at the most colorful aliases of the usual suspects taken into custody by the feds in what is being called the largest arrest of reputed Mafia figures in U.S. history.
1. "Baby Shacks"
Luigi Manocchio is said to have been given this name to honor his frequent liaisons with women.
2. "Baby Fat Larry"
Anthony Durso's nickname offers an all-too-familiar visual of the accused Mafia man who could stand to shed a few pounds.
Anthony Cavezza's nickname belies a fondness for a culinary delicacy appreciated by New Yorkers of all nationalities.
4. "Vinny Carwash"
Vincenzo Frogiero is described in today's FBI press release as a "soldier" for the Cosa Nostra-linked Gambino crime family. No official word on where he picked up his evocative nickname.
5. "The Claw"
It was a close call as to which of 73-year-old Benjamin Castellazzo's nicknames we should use for the poll. The reputed Colombo consigliere also goes by "The Fang."
Narrowing the list to just five candidates was a difficult task, especially with other nicknames that included "Lumpy" "Junior Lollipops" and "Cheeks," so if you don't see your choice listed in the poll, please feel free to add it in the comment section.
