Saints Secondary Coach Dennis Allen to Interview for Broncos DC Position
The New Orleans Saints granted the Broncos permission to interview their secondary coach, Dennis Allen. The Philadelphia Eagles also have been given permission to interview Allen for their defensive coordinator vacancy, according to a report Thursday by The New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Allen has been with the Saints as an assistant for the last six years. He spent the past three seasons coaching the team's defensive backs after serving as an assistant defensive line coach the previous three seasons. He also had a four-year stint as an assistant in Atlanta.
Jim Mora, a two-time former NFL head coach now working as an analyst for NFL Network, withdrew his name from consideration for the Denver defensive coordinator job earlier this week. He had interviewed with new Broncos coach John Fox but decided the job wasn't the right fit for him at this time.
